Focus on working your way up the pyramid as you would the league and no matter where you rank you. balance feedback and general discussion is appreciated and you can find us in our discord to keep up with the latest news. The update should be live within a few hours of this post and we look forward to hearing how you find it. The order is my take on how key they are to playing the game and how far they can take you. This update brings 3 new units, quite a few fixes and some balance adjustments. What's keeping it is the lack of steam deck control icons and the aformentioned hiccups. The Planetary Annihilation pyramid is intended a guideline first and foremost these are all areas you should focus on mastering to improve your game. With the proper control scheme, it is just shy of verified IMO. After a few hiccups on the Deck I would call it playable. So Uber and and would be steam deck users, I hope this helps in some small way. So much so I spent the last few hours perfecting a control scheme for the deck that fits my semi-casual play style (yes its in the wild now). Now when I try to venture to higher settings, well, these screenshots below are what happens.īut at this point, this is the worst that happens to me. I put the graphics settings back to default and it seemed to work well on medium. I don't know if that did this or what but the first two times I tried to start a game with the AI all I got were white textures. Then I decided to tinker with the default medium graphics settings. I also didn't want this to sound like I think their work was pointless, as there is clearly a huge demand for this.Alright so right off the bat I had to switch the game to windowed mode, which was annoying given that the mouse was out of sync with its position. Even though I am not going to use it for the reasons stated above, I really respect everyone who worked on it. Oh, by the way, I think everyone behind the Legion mod did an amazing, mindblowing job. Let alone the fact almost every RTS has either a fantasy, sci-fi or modern warfare theme. And that's kind of impossible if you expect every game to have the same set of features. To make the genre interesting, you need to keep things fresh, to experiment. In the RTS genre, we don't need more of the same. But our opinions can differ and I, for one, actually like there's something that doesn't pursue uniqueness in the same stereotypic way everyone else does, expecting different results. Would I hate the game if they patched in another faction? Absolutely not. If you honestly believe this was a misstep, that's your opinion and I have no reason nor desire to alter it. The symmetry in player tools makes the unique features of the game stand out more because they're not overshadowed by attention attracting superpowers.Īnd now, this is no sort of whiteknighting. The uniqueness doesn't need to be accomplished by faction gimmicks if you've got an interesting concept of general gameplay. I find games like these a breath of fresh air. Why can't a different approach be accepted? The way we've been treated by the industry, with so many amazing games all around us that you'd need to be a Time Lord to even have the slightest chance of playing all of them, it's easy to overlook the games' unique qualities for things we've come to expect. It's not: "I've got this amazing set of tools, what am I going to do with them?"įor a huge chunk of the gaming community, it becomes rather something like: "Next faction coming when?" When you expect there to be many varied factions, it reduces the significance of the work put into them. I mean that I truly prefer this to having more of them – and I'm usually really enthusiastic about games with unique, interesting characters/factions.īut when I think about it, the fact this has become a sort of industry standard (I would assume owing to Starcraft, but I'm not experienced enough to give a proper educated guess) actually somewhat detracts from the novelty of the concept. So, I know I'm a bit late to the party, but am I honestly the only one who actually likes the fact there is only one faction in the base unmodded game?
